SYNOPSIS

Another straight forward Par 4. The hole runs West to East and is set in to the side of the hillslope between the 1st Hole above and the 9th Hole below. The fairway is generous, but slopes increasingly from right to left through out its length, and descends to the Green over the last 200 yards. Equally, the well sized Green is set into the side of the hill, meaning the putting surface is overlooked by a steep bank on the right, and protected by a steep embankment, together with three steep faced pot bunkers, on the left.

DANGER POINTS

Embankment of trees, bushes and rough grass on the right-hand side separating hole from approach to 1st Green. Severely sloping fairway and semi-rough on left, with bushes and saplings separating hole from 9th fairway. Out of bounds at top of bank above the Green.

OTHER FEATURES

A separate Medal Tee. Excellent view of the surrounding countryside to the North and East of Portsdown Hill.
