SYNOPSIS

A short, but forbidding, Par 4 neighbouring the 15th Hole. The elevated Tee overlooks a rolling fairway which in the first instant drops down over 25 feet to the bottom of the hill. After this the Hole generally levels out, although there is a visible left to right slope to the fairway before it rises up gently to the Green set into a cul-de-sac of woodland. The putting surface is ample and predominately flat, however the right edge does fall away with the steep slope evident on that side. The encircling woodland provides the Green's main defence, but a large pot bunker has been set into the front right-hand side by way of addition protection.

DANGER POINTS

Densely wooded area on the right 130 yards from the Tee continuing up to and encircling the Green. Bushes and thick rough on the left, preceding a tightly wooded area bordering the approach. Large tall tree protruding on the left narrowing the approach to the Green. Dense scrub and undergrowth to the left and directly behind the Green.

OTHER FEATURES

The 15th fairway provides an additional route to consider, but the resultant approach over the trees requires precise judgement to succeed. It has also been known for a large pond of casual water to form in the fairway at the bottom of the hill after any period of sustained rainfall.
